Life Isn't Fair

Life Isn't Fair

I would always say “Life isn’t fair” whenever something bad happens and they blame it on life. Sure that may be true, but that isn’t the point. Life isn’t fair for everyone at all really. For example, you really want a pair of new sneakers even though it hasn’t come out yet, but you still go on the preorder list and try your best to get the sneakers. Then, it doesn’t work out and you are mad and say life isn’t fair. Now the question becomes: is life fair?

Life is a way of living and being alive. Everyone lives a different lifestyle. Some people like to stay home. Others like to be adventurous and explore the world while hanging out with friends. But, there are some tragedies in life that really get in the way of someone from experiencing the freedom they can. The tragedies people say are part of life’s plan.

These tragedies, however, can change a person in many ways. Depending on the tragedy they may think it is their own fault. For example, if you lose a friend over an argument and you might never see them again. You will then go on feeling sorry for yourself and trying your hardest to get the person back and you realize that you can’t. From that point on, you start to contemplate life and how it affects you as a person. Then, you question everything about life and how it affects you. Life isn’t fair for anyone really. There are and will be bad and traumatic events that will happen in your life. Some you can change and some you really can’t change. It just happened and it wasn’t foreseen to happen. It never is fair, and nothing will ever be fair since moments in life are just destined to happen. Friends you make may not last forever, we all will eventually die, etc. But, the focus is that eventually everyone will change, and life goes on as if nothing has ever happened.

The funny thing about life is that the past always comes back to haunt us. We tend to often not repeat the same mistakes repeatedly because we all think we learned from our mistakes and most of the time we do. But, why do we make that same mistake? The situation that is occurring could be a difficult one because it may ask us to decide based on our hearts and we end up making the decision we chose last time. We then often ponder the question: why would I make the same mistake I made last time? And, in my experience of past mistakes, there really isn’t an answer for why. It is mainly just instinct that makes us repeat the same choice we made before. We think the outcome may be different, but it might never be different no matter what situation we put ourselves through. The choice will most likely be the same.

I was expecting this article to be a bit funnier and more entertaining. But, I realized it isn’t, it’s more of an emotional piece of writing based on the biggest question: why isn’t life fair? Think about it, you have this big desire to become your best selves, either with a fancy house or to become a multi-millionaire. However, you may achieve that, but you can’t have it all. There will be some aspects of your life that may never be achieved and that is something you can’t control, but people try to control it anyways. Many good things happen in your life, and it is your job to take it up to consideration and appreciate what you have been through, and more importantly, appreciate all the friends and family who helped you throughout the way.
