Which Holiday Is Next: Thanksgiving or Christmas?

Which Holiday Is Next: Thanksgiving or Christmas?

Halloween has ended and now there are two holidays that are right around the corner. There is Thanksgiving where families meet up to either chat about anything or eat a whole bunch of food until you can’t eat anymore. Then, after that, there is Christmas, where everyone receives gifts from this mythical figure named Santa Claus.

Now that the descriptions are out of the way, everyone remembers Halloween differently. Whether it’s going into a Haunted House, getting candy from other people’s houses, or having a Halloween party. Alas, after the events of Halloween, what comes next is now the question. Is it Thanksgiving, or is it Christmas? People will either be playing their Christmas music as soon as November 1st hits, or they will get their Thanksgiving decorations and put it on the door. But now the true question is which holiday comes next on the list after Halloween. Thanksgiving or Christmas?

Thanksgiving pretty much consists of one day where people get together and eat a whole bunch of food and, probably, gain weight. Sometimes, people eat a lot throughout the entire week because we all get a week off. The holiday is mainly to celebrate the moments and the close ones you are thankful for the most whether it is friends, family, teachers etc. That is usually what the holiday is for. But, other than that, Thanksgiving is mostly an important holiday where you appreciate the important people in your life. The ones that are truly there for you whenever you need them the most, and truly appreciate who you are as a person.

The next holiday is Christmas where the snow comes in. People start putting cookies down by the door in case Santa may show himself. They put stockings by the fireplace, start putting the Christmas tree up, and put the presents under the tree. This holiday is filled with great times and so many memories you can make with other people, as well as family. If you were younger, you probably would always wait by the door, wondering if Santa will ever show himself or if you would ever see him. There is a secret Santa where you put your name on a sheet of paper, create a budget of some sort, and buy that person the gift you think is right for them. All in all, Christmas is a great time.

There really is no answer to this question. Therefore, the next holiday is entirely up to the individual. Some people choose not to celebrate Thanksgiving and skip right to Christmas, while other people celebrate both. There are also some people who don’t celebrate either holiday. No matter what holiday(s) you celebrate, it is important to understand the overarching theme for all of them which is family. So, whatever holiday you celebrate, make sure you spend some quality time with your family and let them know how much you appreciate them.
