TV Show Releases for 2022

A lot of people are wondering what is to come in terms of TV shows in the next year. So far, the last two episodes of Hawkeye on Disney Plus drop in December 2021. After that I am not aware of any new shows that are supposed to come out in the rest of 2021. The Book of Boba Fett reaches Disney Plus on December 29th, 2021. It will expand into the end of January 2022. Other than that, let us look at what is to come within the next year.

January is the first month where a lot of shows have been introduced and are returning for the next season. Superman & Lois, for example, returns for a second season on January 11th, 2021. Two days later the show Peacemaker comes out on HBO MAX, a spinoff series set after the events of The Suicide Squad. There are other shows, but there are too many and some I have never heard of nor know nothing about. Next up is the month of February with All American: Homecoming releasing on February 21st, 2021. I don’t know much about the series, but I heard it is good. The Flash Season 8 is continuing through the next year, and I don’t know why this show is still going because it got terribly corny after Season 4 in my opinion. Literally, the same plot of him caring too much still goes on throughout the entire show. Besides, there are a lot of villains that could be either in jail or possibly dead right now if he hasn’t been like that. Also, the man has super speed, so why is he punching people at normal speed? He then wonders why he gets hit so quickly.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is the next TV show, and it is set after the events of Revenge of the Sith and before the events of Episode IV. Ewan McGregor is set to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen is returning as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader as well as other actors and actresses in unknown roles. The Last of Us, based on the video game with the same name, stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, is set in a post-pandemic America where zombies are everywhere. Disney released teasers of the following shows and have no confirmed release date yet. She-Hulk enters Disney Plus which stars Tatiana Maslany as Jenifer Walters (aka She-Hulk), Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner (aka Hulk), Jameela Jamil plays the villain Titania and Tim Roth is set to reprise his role as Abomination. Moon Knight is another recently new title Disney Plus dropping sometime within the next year, and it stars Oscar Issac and Marc Spector (aka Moon Knight), Ethan Hawke as an unknown role, Gaspard Ulliel as Anton Mogart and May Calamawy as an unknown role. Andor is a Star Wars series set before the events of Rogue One. It stars Diego Luna as Cassian Andor and not much is known about this series as well.

Secret Invasion and Ms. Marvel are both new Marvel series heading onto Disney Plus in 2022. Samuel Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders is reprising her role as Maria Hill and Ben Mendelsohn is reprising his role as Talos in Secret Invasion. The Ms. Marvel TV show stars Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel and not much is known since it is still in production. Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas is a prequel animated film set during the events of the zombie outbreak. Not much is known about the show.

That's all in terms of which TV shows are entering the streaming service in the future. I am excited for a couple. There are others that I am not excited for. Either way, there are a lot of new TV shows that are set to debut within the next year.
